World Book Day 2017
This we have taken World Book Day one step further and held World Book Week. We have had a fantastic week reading our class stories and completing lots of exciting activities in preparation for World Book Day! Each year group has focussed on a different story/selection of stories to read and complete work about.
Nursery – Nursery rhymes
Reception – book by Julia Donaldson
Year 1 – stories about magic
Year 2 – The Diary of a Killer Cat
Year 3 – Aesop’s Fables
Year 4 – Firework Makers Daughter
On Thursday we dressed up as characters from our class book, which looked fab, and there was a winner from each class!
Each day Year 3 and Year 4 readers have gone to Reception, Nursery and KS1 to listen to children read and to share stories with them. The younger boys and girls in school have really enjoyed this experience.
On World Book Day, Mrs Blyth and the School Council held a book swap where you could swap an old book for a book that was new to you. What a great idea!
On Friday we shared our work in assembly and told the other Year groups all about our World Book Week. It’s been so much fun, we just can’t wait for next year!
