Reception embarked on an exciting week’s “Eggstravaganza” as they linked arts week to an Easter Theme. They began the week with storytelling sessions with Chris Bostock who told them tales from around the world and then listened to Kate from Seven Stories and heard all about ‘The cow that laid an egg’ and ‘The odd egg’. The children helped The Hungry Caterpillar find his food playing a game with Lycra. With Rachel from the Bare Toed Dance Company they imagined they were spiders hatching from eggs and tadpoles hatching and growing into frogs. The children researched and made their own Faberge eggs, decorated symmetrical eggs, counted eggs, made chicken Easter Cards and created and egg basket. They used eggs and egg boxes to solve addition problems and conducted a survey on everyones favourite type of cooked egg. They have has an eggciting week and are now ‘eggsperts’.
